The Joliet Park District brought back this popular event from the 1970’s and 1980’s known as the “Toughest 10K in the Midwest." In 2014, over 700 runners participated.
This USATF/CARA Certified course runs through the streets of Rockdale and Joliet, Illinois. The course is on paved streets with some hills.
This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a CARA Certified Green Race. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
This race has also agreed to adhere to a set number of Green Practices that have been approved by CARA. The successful completion of these practices, recognize the achievement of an eco-friendly race.
