RACE DETAILS

What is a duathalon? How does this race work?

Simply put, a duathalon consists of two events: cycling and running. The Los Dos Indoor Duathalon will utilize treadmills and indoor cycling bikes, with athletes challenged to complete as much distance as possible in the time allotted. Los Dos athletes will first cycle for 20 minutes and then run/walk for 30 minutes. (A 10 minute transition is scheduled between the cycling and running events.) The distance achieved for both events will be recorded.

Can I participate in only one event of the duathalon?

Ahtletes may choose to forfeit their participation in an event, but there will not be a discounted registration for single events.

What is the wave timeline for Los Dos?

There will be a total of 24 waves available for athletes (12 on Sat, May 2 and 12 on Sun, May 3) with 12 athletes per wave.

How do I sign up for my wave?

Registered athletes will be provided with a link on their registration receipt to sign up for their choice of wave time. Wave time registration will open on March 1 at 8:00am.

RACE DAY INFO

Where should I park on race day?

There is ample parking at Inwood Athletic Club (3000 W. Jefferson St, Joliet). Runners should enter the building under the "wave" awning and check in on the 2nd floor (fitness floor).

When should I arrive for my wave start time?

We recommend that athletes arrive no less than 30 minutes before their wave start time. Athletes *must* check in to the cycle studio 5 minutes before their scheduled wave start. Athletes who miss their wave start will not be permitted to start late and may only be assigned to a new wave if space is available.

Will there be a gear check area?

While there will not be a gear check available, athletes will have access to a staffed studio for warm up / stretching. Gear may be left in the studio during the athlete's wave time.

When and how will the results be posted?

Results will be tabulated upon completion of the final wave on Sunday, May 3. Results will be posted on the run3 website that evening. Runners will be emailed with a link to the results, and the link also will be published on social media accounts (run3 and Inwood Athletic Club on Facebook and Inwood Athletic Club on Instagram).
